Mary Steffel
My Research
I am currently a post-doctoral fellow in marketing at the Warrington College of Business Administration at the University of Florida. I have a Ph.D. in social psychology from Princeton University, and I expect a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Florida in 2012.
My research is at the interface of self and social perception and judgment and decision making. I examine how choice difficulty impacts the inferences people make about their own or other people’s preferences, how comparison standards and other contextual factors impact people’s judgments and preferences, and how actors and observers come to differ in the judgments and choices they make.
